“Off the beaten path”
“Hidden corner of California”
Scott Valley is all of those things–and a truly lovely, intriguing, quirky, homey part of way-northern California. Though we are only an hour or so south of Ashland, OR, this primarily ranching valley is remote and quiet.
The flat valley floor is surrounded by foothills in all directions, and to the west the snow-topped Marble Mountains. The Scott River meanders through the valley. The old California frontier style towns of Etna and Fort Jones anchor the south and north ends respectively, and each town has the basics–hardware stores, Ray’s Food Place groceries, and, remarkably, several restaurants which are thoroughly local and very good.
On the eastern side of the valley between Etna and Fort Jones is Hurds Gulch, a few miles off the main road and home to a small community of co-owners who first settled here in 1973.
This community is currently looking for several new families. If you are interested in exploring the possibility of being one of those new families, please complete the contact form so we can start a conversation and provide access to additional detailed information about the opportunity.
NOTE: This is not best understood as a real estate investment due to the legal configuration of the community. Please contact us if you seek an opportunity to relocate to this remote yet convenient community and experience the beauty of Scott Valley life.
